This antique 1921 Book of Etiquette by Lillian Eichler is Volume II of the original two-volume set published by Nelson Doubleday, Inc. More than 100 years old, the book explores the manners, entertaining traditions and social customs of American life in the early 20th century.

Inside are chapters covering dinners, luncheons, afternoon tea, entertaining, dancing, dress, speech, travel, theater etiquette, social customs and household life. Period photographs and illustrations make it especially interesting to browse and offer a fascinating look at how dramatically everyday life—and some of our ideas about proper etiquette—have changed over the past century.

The book itself is beautiful. Its dark cloth cover is decorated with an elaborate gold floral design featuring roses and other flowers, making it just as lovely displayed on a table or shelf as it is interesting to read.
