Vintage White Milk Glass Hen on Nest Covered Dish – Hocking Glass
A classic vintage favorite that works beautifully in almost any room.
This charming white milk glass hen on nest is a two-piece covered dish featuring a beautifully molded hen resting atop a basket-style base. The base has a wonderful cross-hatched diamond pattern, while the hen features softly molded feathers, wings, comb and facial details.
This particular small hen-on-nest design was long attributed to Hazel Atlas by collectors and sellers, but more recent glass research identifies the cross-hatched mold as a Hocking Glass Company piece.
The creamy white milk glass makes this one especially easy to decorate with. Display her in a kitchen, tuck her into a farmhouse or cottage vignette, add her to a collection of white ironstone and milk glass, or bring her out for spring and Easter decorating. She is also a functional little covered dish for holding small treasures.
